The upcoming Battlefield Hardline first-person shooter from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts is now available for pre-load on the PC platform and the two companies have confirmed exactly when the multiplayer servers for the upcoming game will go online, depending on region and platform.

Battlefield games have delighted tens of millions of first-person shooter fans from all over the world across multiple generations, but with the upcoming Hardline installment, lots of things are changing. First up, there's a new developer, as Visceral Games is trying its hand at the series made famous by DICE, and there's a new conflict of cops vs. criminals, instead of large armies and warfare.

The game already had not one but two beta stages, and last week it was part of a free preview via EA Access on the Xbox One console.

This week, Battlefield Hardline is launching all over the world and a few last-minute details have just been confirmed by EA and Visceral on the official website for those who have already pre-ordered the shooter or are planning on buying it just as it goes on sale.

Hardline is available for pre-load on some platforms

First up, the companies mention that, on select platforms, the game is already available for pre-load, depending on the region and device. So far, the PC, PS4, and Xbox One digital editions can already be downloaded by those who've pre-purchased them.

The title, however, can't be played until the game is officially released in those regions and on those platforms. Trying to circumvent this, through VPNs or proxies, is against the terms of service.

Multiplayer servers are going live based on a staggered schedule

Besides the pre-load info, Visceral and EA confirm that the multiplayer servers for Hardline are also going live using a staggered schedule.

Today, March 16, the online servers for Hardline go live in North America on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. On March 17, they go live in Asia, Middle East, Russia, or South Africa on Xbox One & 360, in North America, Asia, and Russia on PS4 & PS3, and in Brazil and Russia on PC.

On March 18, Europe, Australia, and Turkey get the game on Xbox One & 360, and Australia gets it on PC. On March 19, the rest of the world can play Hardline on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, or PC. However, PC users in UK, Ireland, and Portugal have to wait another day, until March 20 for their copies to go online.
