Hotwire was the most difficult mode to create

Ever since Battlefield Hardline was announced, a part of the community associated with the series, which was originally created by DICE, has complained that the absence of the military theme means that the title can never be a true part of the universe.

But the team working on it at Visceral Games says the move to the conflict between cops and criminals makes sense and that the new title will contain all the core elements of the series, including class-based action, destruction that changes how a map looks and plays during a match, and a focus on cooperation between members of a team.

Thaddeus Sasser, the lead multiplayer designer at Visceral Games, tells the official Origin site that the idea of allowing players to play through a bank robbery drove initial development and that "Then you start elaborating: what about a hostage situation? What about a VIP situation? What about an escort thing? And you can keep spinning on that. The germ of each of these ideas has become a mode in Battlefield Hardline."

The new shooter might not feature military characters and nations as factions, but it does feature a lot of modern hardware and some surprises when it comes to character abilities, weapons and vehicles.

Hotwire was difficult to create

One of the modes that was appreciated by players of the beta for Battlefield Hardline was Hotwire, which is based around vehicles and fast gameplay, and Sasser says the experience was one of the toughest to create.

Apparently, 10 versions were tested before they came up with idea that the cars themselves should be the actual objectives.

On launch, the title will offer both classic and entirely new modes and Visceral Games has long-term plans to support it with new maps and other DLC.

The company has recently also announced that it is offering a Veteran's pack to all those who own another title in the series and have registered it on Origin.

Battlefield Hardline might get some mechanical tweaks before it is launched, based on beta feedback, but nothing major is planned.

Release date is planned for March 17 in the United States and March 19 in Europe and Battlefield Hardline will be offered on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC and last-gen consoles.
