Gamers will be first warned by the developers

Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are just days away from the launch of Battlefield Hardline, and as fans are preparing to jump into the multiplayer modes, the two companies are ready to reveal the Fairfight bans that will be handed out to all those who do not play by the rules.

Cracking, using cheats or bot deployment will be sanctioned in order to make sure that the first-person shooter offers a level playing field to all those involved.

The official site offers gamers a clear look at the Fairfight messages that gamers can receive and the length of the various punishments that can be deployed.

It seems that initially Battlefield Hardline players will be warned and the second step taken is to ban them from playing for a 168-hour period and to reset their states.

For those who continue to act against the Terms of Service, the company is reserving the right to deploy a permanent ban.

Electronic Arts says the penalty system is cumulative and all those who feel that they have been unfairly targeted can contact the company directly.

Gamers should not "promote, encourage, or take part in any activity involving hacking, cracking, phishing, taking advantage of exploits or cheats and/or distribution of counterfeit software and/or virtual currency or items."

Aimbots and wallhacks are also on the list of actions that can generate Fairfight warnings and bans.

Battlefield Hardline is focused on multiplayer

Warnings and bans are needed for the coming shooter because if Visceral Games and Electronic Arts are unable to make sure that the matches are fair, no community will form around Battlefield Hardline.

The game has already been delayed from the fall of last year and the two companies need to do everything they can in order to ensure that the multiplayer experience is as smooth as possible from day one.

Initial sales of Battlefield Hardline are important, but Electronic Arts will want to get as many gamers as possible to buy the Premium service and to invest in downloadable content.

This means that Fairfight bans need to be used against those who break the rules and that Visceral Games needs to get feedback and data and then use them to create patches and improve balance of the title.
