The development team at DICE says that it is revamping the Spectator Mode in its upcoming Battlefield 4 in order to make it a more attractive and useful tool for those who want to learn the game, for the curious fan looking for a spectacle and for those who want to create spectacular videos.

Daniel Matros, an assistant producer, and Dennis Brannvall, a gameplay designer, state in an official blog post from the company that, “Our goal has been to give spectators the best possible views of the Battlefield, and the ability to quickly switch between both camera types and players – without toggling through an entire team to get what they want.”

All players are free to use Battlelog to search for servers and then join one as a Spectator, with four slots offered for those interested.

Gamers will be able to watch the action using four views: First Person, Third Person, Tabletop and Freecam View.

Tabletop is the most interesting of the bunch because it gives information similar to those offered in the Commander Mode and allows players to see the tactical situation of the match.

Freecam View is the best for those looking to create impressive Battlefield 4 videos.

DICE says, “you have five different cameras that you can switch between. These cameras are placed on the map by us from the beginning, but you can move them anywhere you want – an ideal setup if you are creating your own Battlefield 4 movies. You can capture all the action from different angles to get that cinematic feel, like the one you see in our own Battlefield 4 trailers.”

Battlefield 4 will bring a range of new multiplayer mechanics and the team plans to offer constant DLC featuring more options and new maps.

The first-person shooter will be out on October 29 in the United States and November 1 in Europe.
