The development team at DICE working on Battlefield 4 announces that the upcoming Naval Strike downloadable content pack will be the last one created at the Stockholm studio, with the Los Angeles developers set to handle creation of the final two DLCs for the first-person shooter.

The information was posted on the Reddit subforum that deals with the title by one of the members of the development team, and the future content will be offered under the names Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand.

The DICE Los Angeles studio is behind the creation of the Second Assault content for Battlefield 4, which took four of the most popular maps from the history of the series and remade them using the entirely new Frostbite 3 engine, including its impressive Levolution tech.

The package was first offered on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, and only after one month players who have Battlefield 4 on another platform were able to get the same content.

Until Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand are launched, players will be able to experience the Naval Assault DLC, which is being created by the Stockholm core shooter team.

It is designed to add another four maps, made entirely from scratch, which focus on the water-based combat mechanics of the shooter.

At the same time, players are set to also get access to a new Carrier Assault game mode, which is inspired by the older Battlefield 2142 and includes larger scale engagements.

Its core mechanics will be detailed in the near future, and Naval Assault will be officially launched late during this month.

Battlefield 4 had a lot of problems when it was launched, and DICE had to deliver a lot of patches in order to make the game playable for all those who bought it.

At one point, the studio promised that it was suspending development on all future DLC and on the next game in the series in order to focus on improving player experiences.

It’s unclear whether the studio now considers the title to be running smoothly, a statement with which a number of fans would disagree.

Neither DICE nor publisher Electronic Arts has offered any sort of information on the content that will be included in Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand.

Considering the schedule that the two companies have been using so far, we can probably expect them to launch in late May and June.
