DICE has confirmed that it's decided to delay Battlefield 4's Naval Strike expansion on the Xbox One as well as on the PC, as multiple issues on both platforms prevent the studio from successfully launching the new map pack for its first-person shooter.

Battlefield 4 came out back in November and developer DICE was quickly forced to release updates and patches for the game as all sorts of major problems and issues were affecting its single-player story campaign and its multiplayer online mode.

Despite a huge amount of updates, the problems continued to persist and now they're preventing the next big downloadable map pack, Naval Strike, from launching on PC and Xbox One.

After making the PC delay official yesterday, when Naval Strike launched on PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360, DICE has confirmed on its blog that the Xbox One edition of the add-on has also been pushed back until early April due to multiple issues.

The studio has said that the delay on the PC was due to performance problems that appeared on mid- and high-range PCs, and solutions are being developed as we speak.

"We have delayed the PC version of Naval Strike because we are concerned that the combination of the pack and planned PC updates would increase performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs. We are working hard to resolve that issue now," the studio said.

The Xbox One edition of Naval Strike was also pushed back because of other problems relating to the animation system, according to the developer.

"Additionally, we have decided to delay the Xbox One version of Naval Strike because we want to address issues in the animation system that hinder players from engaging targets in set circumstances using popular weapon configurations."

DICE wants to release the DLC when it's sure that no major problems will appear on PC and Xbox One, and it has reminded those who got the Battlefield 4 Premium bundle that they will still have a 2-week exclusivity for the add-on.

"We are trying to resolve these problems as quickly as possible and hope to release the update in early April for Xbox One and PC. We also want to remind Xbox One and PC owners of Battlefield 4 Premium that they will have two weeks early access for Naval Strike once it’s released. Thanks for your continued patience and passion for our games," the studio concluded.

As of yet, there's no exact release date for Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC and Xbox One.
