The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing the launch of a new major update for Battlefield 4, which is designed to fix a wide variety of issues with the first-person shooter and improve the general player experience.

The announcement explains that the biggest changes made to the title are:

-Fix for an issue where players were able to duplicate Battle Pickups by repeatedly picking up a kit; -Fix for an issue where field upgrades would stop working after one round when players had reached the max field upgrade level; -Fix for a crash that could occur when a player left a round; -Added a 15 seconds warm-up timer for all Official games.

DICE is also introducing a new user interface that will allow PC players to tweak the dead zone for their joysticks, and there's a new option to double tap the forward key in order to sprint.

The Gulf of Oman map has been tweaked to eliminate a problem which did not allow players to issue squad orders around capture points.

Battlefield 4 also has a new competitive game mode called Obliteration.

The development team is also introducing changes to the graphics setting, the ways servers work, the user interface.

Vehicles and weapons also receive a number of fixes from the development team.

A full list of the changes for the Xbox One, the 360, the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the PS3 is offered on the official site, but the differences between platforms are small.

DICE says that much of the feedback coming from the player community was taken into account in the development of the new patch and that statistics from the new test environment.

The studio adds, "As always, we want to know how these updates are performing and how we can improve your game experience further. If you haven’t done so already, jump into the Battlefield 4 forums and sound off with your feedback."

At the moment, a Los Angeles-based team is working on the new Dragon's Teeth downloadable content for Battlefield 4, which is supposed to be launched for those who have a subscription to the Premium service on July 15.

Players will get a new game mode to try out, four new maps on which to battle, and a number of new items to use, including a much-requested ballistic shield.

Another piece of DLC, called End Game, is supposed to launch before the end of summer.
