The development team at DICE announces that it is launching a double experience gain period for Battlefield 4 that will last from November 28 to December 5, allowing all gamers to level up their character during the long Thanksgiving period.

Karl Magnus Troedsson, the leader of the company, explains in an official blog post that the decision has been made in order to reward all fans of the shooter for sticking with it through the launch period on the PC, current gen consoles, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

All gamers who log into Battlefield 4 for multiplayer on December 5 will also get access to a M1911 pistol scope, which was previously only available to members of the DICE team.

The executive states that his team continues to optimize the game and that more patches are set to arrive shortly, all based on community feedback.

He adds, "we are so serious that we have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations. It is the right thing to do."

Since Battlefield 4 was first launched some gamers have reported glitches with the servers and various game modes and the developers have already delivered patches designed to address both balance and stability.

Karl Magnus Troedsson adds, "You are the heart and soul of Battlefield. We thank you for your support in these early days of the launch, and will continue to show our appreciation as time goes on."

Battlefield 4 is one of the biggest launches of the year, powered by the impressive Frostbite 3 engine and designed to deliver a 64 gamer multiplayer experience.

It is facing strong competition from Call of Duty: Ghosts, created by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.
