Planet Battlefield reports that players waiting for Battlefield 2142 v1.50 on Mac should be a little more patient, as DICE has announced it is still testing it. On the official Battlefield website, Electronic Arts offers an explanation for the delay. Currently, the Mac version of Battlefield 2142 is at 1.40.

Speaking about updating the Mac version of Battlefield 2142 (to version 1.50), EA promises fans that the patch is going to arrive soon:

"As you know, Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 released recently for PC and we wanted to update our Mac players on what is happening with 1.50 for Mac," EA says. "Updates for Battlefield 2142 are created originally for the PC version of the game and then passed to a conversion team once we have finalized the update to bring the new content to Mac. 1.50 is currently at this stage of the process where it is being converted and tested to ensure everything is in order for release."

The giant publisher and developer of some of the most popular video games on PC and consoles also notes that "this process causes a slight delay on Mac releases of updates," but assures fans of its futuristic FPS that it is "coming." EA also promises to issue an official announcement in the shortest time possible. Until then, the company will do its best to keep fans informed on the status of the testing, "along with the Mac change list as soon as we have more details," says EA's website.

For those who didn't get a chance to check out EA's Battlefield 2142, the first-person shooter puts players in the role of a soldier in a futuristic setting. The dawn of a new Ice Age has thrown the world into a panic. You can figure out the rest by checking out the game.
