Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have just announced the upcoming release of the mobile version of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the upcoming Batman mobile game will be free-to-play, but will probably feature some in-app transactions.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available in the console game launch window for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, while Android users will have to wait a bit longer as the developers have announced that the Android version will follow in the holiday timeframe.

“We created an integrated gaming ecosystem between the Batman: Arkham Origins mobile and console games, which delivers rewards and unlocks that provide greater experiences for players. The mobile game goes hand-in-hand with what is offered on the other platforms,” said Ed Boon, creative director, NetherRealm Studios.

Unlike the previous games already available on PC, the mobile version of Batman won't allow players to face multiple enemies at the same time. Instead, they will be fighting enemies one by one.

According to NetherRealm, the Batman: Arkham Origins free-to-play brawler will offer players “stunning graphics and quality gameplay fans have come to expect from the team who brought to market fan favorite mobile games Injustice: Gods Among Us and Batman: Arkham City Lockdown.”

Developers have also confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins mobile game will allow players, as Batman, to fight against some of DC Comics' most deadly assassins as they fight their way through Gotham City's most dangerous zones.

Obviously, you will be provided with the possibility to upgrade your character as you progress further into the game. You will also be able to unlock a number of unique Batsuits and earn in-game currency and rewards.

There's more to it, as players who already own the console version, which is about to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 25, and are registered for a Warner Bros. ID account will also be able to access exclusive content not available elsewhere.
