Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has managed to pick the most awards at the BAFTA awards ceremony but the big winner of the night is Batman: Arkham Asylum, the action adventure title from Rocksteady and Warner Bros., which won both the Best Game award, awarded to the release that contributed most to the field of videogames in the previous year, and Best Gameplay.

Uncharted 2, which was created by Naughty Dog and published by Sony exclusively on the PlayStation 3, succeeded on getting four of the awards that are handed out by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The game took home awards for the Action category, the Original Score, the Story category and for Use of Audio.

Other winners included:

Flower – Artistic Achievement Wii Sports Resort – Family & Social LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation Portable – Handheld Left 4 Dead 2 – Multiplayer FIFA 10 – Sports Empire: Total War – Strategy FIFA 10 – Use of Online Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – GAME award.

During the same ceremony, Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto also received The Fellowship Award for his entire work linked with videogames. All the awards are given based on the opinion of a panel of experts, except for the GAME award, which is given out based on the voting of the public.

There's a good chance that in 2011, when BAFTA is giving out the awards for this year's videogames, they will again have to consider a game created by developer Rocksteady. Since Arkham Asylum was launched, the studio was bought by Warner Bros. and is confirmed to be working on a Batman sequel, which might arrive as soon as this fall. Naughty Dog is probably also working on a sequel to Uncharted 2 but the project has not been officially announced.
