He comes across the bass in Lake Austin, both are still alive when he reels them in

An angler has stumbled across a double bass catch, reeling in two same-sized fish while one was trying to swallow the other.

He doesn't have to break a sweat in order to catch them, as he spots them while he is sailing and approaches them to get a closer glimpse, only to realize that they are both very much alive and kicking.

Tim Romano, contributor to Field and Stream, mentions that one of his friends found the pair in Lake Austin.

As you can see in the clip, the fish are large enough for the fisherman to keep and the rarity of the capture makes it even more worthwhile.

Even so, after bringing the bass to his boat and separating them, the angler releases them back into the lake.
