The Chi/Qi flux of vital energy needs to be continuously stimulated through the positioning of objects in your house and other buildings. Also, the negative energy must be removed from the living space.

The negative energy appears when the basic principles of interior design and common sense rules within a living space are disobeyed - like a very crowded room, a lot of clutter in the house etc.

Improving the flow of Chi and getting rid of the negative energy relates to a series of simple techniques, such as: using bright (mirrors, multi-faceted crystals, gems, candles) and heavy objects (stone sculptures, furniture), calming and relaxing sounds (wind chimes, bamboo flutes, bells, soft music), an animated environment (flowers, plants, birds, fish)and different types of colors.

To practically know how to make use of these it is very important to consult and follow the steps in the Feng Shui Baqua map. This is an octagonal shaped map - Baqua designating the figure 8 - which allows everyone to evaluate in Feng Shui terms any living or working space.

According to it, a building should be separated in parts or rooms to cover all the aspects of life mentioned in the old Chinese art. There are nine life aspects and each of the corresponding parts of the house must be properly arranged and harmonized in order to enhance the flow of the positive energy.

The life areas symbolized in Bagua are: Prosperity, Fame and Reputation, Relationships and Love, Family and Health, Creativity and Children, Skills and Knowledge, Helpful People and Travel and Career. Each has its characteristics and specific details.

The Skills and Knowledge area should use blue and green colors and many books must be placed here in order to enhance personal reflection. It is better to be found in the Northeastern part of the house.

The Career area usually uses black objects, water fountains, free form shapes and mirrors to attract the Qi. It is better to be found in the Northern part of the house.

The Helpful People and Travel area uses mostly gray and items pertaining to spiritual guidance, help and travel. It is better to be found in the Northwestern part of the house.

The Health and Family area uses green and animated things such as: plants, animals, flowers, crystal sun catchers and wooden objects, too. It is better to be found in the Eastern part of the house.

The Center symbolizes the Earth and Prosperity and should be yellow. This is a quiet place for meditation and relaxation.

The Children and Creativity area is connected with white shades and one should place here objects that lead to creative thoughts and actions, especially metallic things. It is better to be found in the Western part of the house.

The Wealth area is usually purple and uses chimes, bells, statuary objects. It is better to be found in the Southeastern part of the house.

The Reputation and Fame area uses red color, incenses and candles. It is better to be found in the Southern part of the house.

The Relationships and Love area should be pink. It is better to be found in the Southwestern part of the house.

We should also take into account the fact that the energy must flow circularly in one's home or office. Sha or 'hard, holding or depleting' places need to be altered to create this. Walkways, hallways and entries can produce Sha places where energy is stagnant or flows away. Shapes like a crescent moon or sun as well as wind chimes can produce Chi or moving energy.

Large, undefined rooms can create chaotic energy - to create shapes and corners place rocks, lamps, candles or plants in the location of missing corners and then place mirrors or crystals there which reflect the opposite corner.

Objects which are electrical such as your microwave, TV, computer or phones can disperse chaotic energy and need red dots on them to hold the energy field.
