A few months ago, Lady Gaga paid homage to Hello Kitty on the character’s 35th anniversary the best way she knows how, that is, through a Hello Kitty-inspired photospread, complete with dresses made of toys and anime-style eyes. The time has come now for the singer to join forces with Barbie, thanks to a new collection of dolls that will be out soon, as OK! UK informs.

So far, not many details on the collection are available. However, a handful of pictures have already been published and can be found online, while it’s also known that the collection was made possible with the help of designer Lu Wei Kang, who also professes to be one of Gaga’s most diehard fans. This way, we have dolls with the famous hair bow, dolls dressed in sequins and paired with a Ken that looks very much like Elton John and even one doll wearing the infamous Kermit the Frog dress that got Gaga so much media a short while ago.

“We love her totally-outrageous outfits, the hairbows that defy gravity and the ridiculous teacup she insists on taking everywhere – quite frankly, she wouldn’t be Lady Gaga without them. Chinese designer Lu Wei Kang has made a series of Gaga accessories for Barbie dolls - including the Kermit The Frog dress and the red face-veil – and you could soon be able to buy them,” OK! writes.

“Nobody else dresses like Lady Gaga. She’s a fashion leader – just look at her in those amazing wigs, make-up, and outfits. I pay close attention to her music, clothes, glasses and make-up. Every detail makes me love her more and more and I thought it would be fun to make those wigs and outfits for Barbie dolls. I have never met her in person, but I really hope that she would like her dolls,” the designer tells the British media of the motivation behind the new collection.

As of now, there are no concrete plans in place to sell the dolls. Nevertheless, Lu Wei Kang is considering selling them online through auctions at first and then, hopefully, he’ll be able to bring them in stores as well. For more on this, keep an eye on this space.
