We all know that some Internet users are addicted to their favorite web service but this is way too much. Listen to this: a college student from Michigan got banned on Facebook and decided to write to Michael Arrington of TechCrunch to help him receive his account banned. But look what he wrote: "I just can't be a college student without Facebook". Pretty incredible don't you think? It looks like Facebook is quite important for a college boy since some of the students are prepared to drop out school due to a ban on a web-based service. Here's the entire message sent by the student to Michael Arrington:

"Dear Michael, I'm a college student at University of Michigan and Facebook has deactivated my account. I've noticed, from reading your blog, you have connections to Facebook's staff. Can you please forward this email to someone or do something? I just can't be a college student without Facebook. I did nothing to have my account deactivated? it just happened late Sunday night. I've emailed them, but they don't care."

Facebook is a social networking technology which has millions of registered users coming from every corner of the world. Moreover, at the time of signing the deal with Microsoft, Facebook informed that no less than 250,000 new users join the service every day which is pretty impressive for a social network.

But Facebook is more than a simple social network, tending to turn into a real phenomenon. That's why numerous employers took the decision to block the service on the workstations since some of their workers could spend important amount of the work time on Facebook. Obviously, this could affect the productivity and the results of the company so Facebook became one of the services which could influence the profit of the firms due to its continuously increasing popularity.
