Possibly launching soon

It may prove that this Christmas brings new cool gear from the renowned and deeply revered Danish manufacturer Bang & Olufsen, in the body of the BeoSound 5 music controller. This kind of equipment catches more and more as people grow to like the "all music in one place" concept; and by all means the BeoSound 5 looks like one of the niftiest tools for such a job, at least this is what the spy picture below tells us.

The BeoSound 5 is a music-dedicated center, designed to perfectly work hand in hand with the BeoMaster 5, the new music storage solution.

While BeoMaster5 boasts 500GB of storage space that can hold an enormous music collection, the BeoSound 5 is the perfect tool to administer such a huge amount of digital tracks. It may be a tad ahead of what we currently acknowledge as being "modern" as far as design is concerned, and it boasts a disarming simplicity doubled by a very intelligent behavior, or at least that is what the Danes say.

The convenient thing about the BeoSound 5 is that you can install it anywhere around the house and still have unlimited access to your music files and the ability to sort, scroll and group them in just few steps. The big question is whether this device can be installed with other gear than Bang & Olufsen; in case it is a B&O-only piece of tech, it’s uncertain how many people would run forking out serious green to replace their whole array with B&O gear.

As far as the manufacturer says in an early press release, the BeoSound 5 will sport an improved sound to match with the rest of the high-tech audio equipment bearing the B&O badge. Still, there is no word on availability or pricing, but given the spy pictures leaked on the www, it may not be long before more (official) data will surface. Anyway, don't expect anything near cheap.
