14 DAY TRIAL // A few hours ago, MTV reality star Bam Margera had to be rushed to the hospital after getting into an altercation at a bar. The assailant was a 59-year-old woman who has not yet been identified for the press and she’s been already charged with aggravated assault. It is not yet known what started the dispute that degenerated and prompted the woman to take her bat and beat Margera to a pulp, E! Online reports.
Margera is no stranger to emergency visits to the hospital given that he made a name for himself on what was known at the time as MTV’s most shameless reality show, “Jackass.” However, this time, things are more serious, as TMZ has learned at a later hour, when it also posted a photo of the star looking bloody and seemingly unconscious as he was escorted into an ambulance to be taken to the hospital.
“The 30-year-old star was hit in the head with a baseball bat during an altercation with a woman around 2 a.m. Saturday outside of The Note, a bar he owns in West Chester, Pennsylvania. No further details have been released on what prompted the beat-down, but reportedly, a 59-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after the incident occurred, according to Philly.com. Margera’s time in the hospital was short-lived despite the bat-bashing, however. The notorious prankster was released from the intensive care unit late Saturday afternoon, according to reports,” E! says.
“When we broke the story yesterday – that Bam Margera was taken to the hospital after being attacked with a bat – we had no idea it was this bad. The photos were taken immediately after the incident, as the star was being loaded into an ambulance. His condition is unknown. Update: We talked to Steve-O, who says Bam was holed up in the intensive care unit after the incident... but has already been released from the hospital. Steve-O also said, ‘I think he’s gonna be okay’,” TMZ also reports, posting a blurry photo of Margera on a gurney.
Reports in the media say that, aside from the aggravated assault charge, which is a felony, the woman who batted Margera senseless also faces two counts of simple assault and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. Further details on the altercation were not immediately available at the time this went to press.
