Oxygen, one of the largest US cable networks, signed a deal with YouTube to create a new channel on the online video sharing service in order to publish exciting content usually distributed through its TV channel. The new YouTube - Oxygen page was already released on September 17th and provides one click access to attractive content such as Tori & Dean: Inn Love, The Bad Girls Club, Mo'Nique's F.A.T. Chance and Snapped, the parent company announced on its official page. This announcement comes one month after the same firm signed a deal with Yahoo Video to offer similar video content. Oxygen is also a partner of Hulu, the video sharing service owned by News Corporation and NBC.

"Working with YouTube is part of Oxygen's overall strategy to reach our audience on every platform that's available to women. YouTube is extremely popular, and this is a great way for Oxygen to maximize its popularity and gain a new audience, as well," Oxygen president Mary Murano said in a statement, according to the Oxygen official page.

YouTube is the exclusive publisher of an impressive amount of video content which was brought to its page using numerous agreements and partnerships signed with media companies. This powerful partnership campaign was started just after Viacom, the owner of MTV and Comedy Central, demanded the removal of 100,000 clips from the page because they infringe their copyright.

Because YouTube urgently needed new videos to face the competition, it signed a lot of agreements with the media companies which were able to bring new content on its page. According to the reports, YouTube signed more than 1,000 partnerships but the number has been much increased since then because the online video sharing service is always open to talks and to new ideas which can bring more visitors to its page.
