A few days ago, a one-month-old baby black rhino born at Lincoln Park Zoo in Illinois, US finally stepped out of his nursery and greeted his fans.

Zoo Borns tells us that, while King was busy strutting around the outdoor enclosure and entertaining visitors to the zoo with his more or less graceful manner of carrying himself, his mom, Kapuki, followed his every step.

Keepers say that, as far as they could tell, the 200-pound (almost 91-kilogram) baby rhino did not mind being in the spotlight. On the contrary, as one can easily notice in the picture above, he quite enjoyed the experience.

Given the fact that he is to become an ambassador for his species, his keepers took this as a very good sign. “King will serve as an excellent ambassador for his species,” zoo employee Mark Kamhout said.
