This year's BET Awards wasn't just about celebrating the best in music, but also about remembering one of the greatest voices ever. Below is the full Whitney Houston tribute included within the awards ceremony.
As we also noted earlier today, the moment was introduced by Mariah Carey, who spoke about missing her “good friend” and always cherishing her music.
Monica was next on stage for a rousing rendition of “I Love the Lord,” followed by Brandy, who brought everybody to their feet dancing with “I'm Your Baby Tonight” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
Gary Houston, Whitney's brother, was next. He sang and introduced his mother, Cissy Houston, who sang a deeply touching rendition of “Bridge over Troubled Water.”
Barely half a minute into the song, there was not a dry eye in the house.
Chaka Khan rounded up the wonderful tribute with “I'm Every Woman.”
