The 2012 BET Awards saw Beyonce return to the spotlight to pick up an award for Best Female R&B Artist but the moment wasn't without a bit of drama, says a new report.

Below is a video of Beyonce's acceptance speech, as well as the introduction made by Mike Epps and Mindless Behavior.

TMZ says Beyonce was particularly offended when one of the guys in the group told Epps “you sing BAD... like Lauryn Hill's tax accountant bad,” because she thought it was a diss at the singer, who is now in a lot of trouble for not paying her taxes.

The celebrity e-zine claims that the diva changed her acceptance speech on the spot to remedy the wrong done to Lauryn.

“I want to thank all the talented R&B women that came before me like Lauryn Hill and Mary J. Blige,” she said.

It seems there is some truth to this, with Mindless Behavior tweeting a short while ago, “We meant no disrespect to our girl Lauryn Hill last night, it was a bad joke. We're big fans and hope you're not mad!”
