One of the first handsets that Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion will push to the market with the new BBX OS on board could be the BlackBerry London, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The new mobile phone is rumored to pack specifications that will bring it in line with some of the high-end smartphones available on shelves today, and should hit the market sometime in the third quarter of the next year.

Two sources delivered the same information on the new mobile phone, namely The Verge and BGR, which suggests that the handset is real, and that RIM might indeed make an official announcement on it soon.

The upcoming BlackBerry device is expected to include a TI OMAP dual-core application processor that has been clocked in at 1.5GHz, in line with what some of the previous rumors on RIM's BBX plans suggested.

Moreover, it should also include 1GB of RAM, along with 16GB of onboard storage, and a large touchscreen display.

The upcoming mobile phone might also include an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities, along with a 2MP camera on the front, great for making video calls.

The handset is expected to feature a thin design, and should look just as can be seen in the photo attached to the left.

Just as RIM confirmed not too long ago, the upcoming device will sport an operating system that resembles a lot with what PlayBook users can enjoy on their devices today.

Apparently, the new device will not be out on shelves until June 2012 is here. It has been even suggested that RIM will launch it in the third quarter of the next year, and not sooner.

For the time being, however, nothing is official on this device, and some of the above details might change before the handset is launched but, from what can be seen at the moment, we can say that RIM might have some great devices in store for its users for the next year.
