14 DAY TRIAL // British defense, security and aerospace company BAE Systems has decided that starting with January 31, its cyber security operations will be rebranded. The Detica name will be replaced with BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.
According to Bloomberg, the company wants to change the name of its cybersecurity operations in order to “closer align to the BAE Systems brand.”
Detica was acquired by BAE in 2008 for $868 million (€638 million) in an effort to expand the company’s offering with cyber security services.
Communications, financial services and utility companies will be among BAE Systems Applied Intelligence’s customers.
In 2013, Detica noted that there was a growing demand for its cyber security services across all sectors. The company’s sales increased by 9% in the first six months of 2013 compared to the previous year.
