The device combines mic, speakers, and webcam

VoiP products are slowly but surely going to convince PSTN believers that internet-based telephony is the future of yapping. All you need is a USB internet phone to establish contact with another very or normal "IP person". There are tons of VoIP certified phones on the market: decent string-attached ones or WiFi wonders, both with or without conference or speaker phone capabilities.

Well, here's one you may be interested in. Axive's SYS-UCO3 is not just a simple VoIP certified phone. It's a 4-in-1 device that combines mic, speakers, and webcam for VoIP calls meaning it does both sound and video. It's looks more like a webcam than a phone. To put it in other words, it's a video phone. As you've probably guessed, it lets you experience VoIP with just a single USB connection. It features built-DSP with echo cancellation, status LEDS, on board volume controls and a black or white color scheme as well.

Unfortunately, there's no info on the price, but I assume this one is going to cost you more than you probably expect. Other features include the echo-cancellation mic that allows it to pick up a voice from 5 meters distance and the camera that folds safely into the device's body when not in use. Moreover, the webcam can be concealed to keep the dust away from the lens (nothing new here).

Axive SYS-UCO3 comes in 2 flavors: white and black. The bad news has to be the design: it looks like Mickey Mouse's head turned up-side down.
