With only a couple of months to go until the release of one of the most anticipated productions of 2010, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” the first track off the original score is already online. Avril Lavigne sings “Alice (Underground),” which also happens to be the lead track for the film and which will be included on the official soundtrack, called “Almost Alice,” as SlashFilm can confirm.

Though the album is packed with huge names from Avril herself to The All-American Rejects, Tokio Hotel and Kerli, Mark Hoppus with Pete Wentz, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, “Alice (Underground)” seems, so far, the perfect choice for a leading single, fans say in dedicated communities. The sound is a bit different than the one Lavigne accustomed us until now, less adorned and, because of it, with more punch, but it’s still a pleasure to listen to it, especially since the focus seems to fall more on Avril.

“Earlier this month, Disney revealed the list of tracks/artists for the soundtracks for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. The end credit track ‘Alice (Underground)’ written by Avril Lavigne and produced by Butch Walker, is now online,” SlashFilm writes. A video for it has not yet been released, but this will probably happen in the days to come. As tradition would have it, the video will probably be made of completed footage from the film, which might not necessarily mean stuff already included in the two trailers.

“Almost Alice is a 16-song compilation featuring Alice in Wonderland’s end credit track ‘Alice (Underground)’ written by Avril Lavigne and produced by Butch Walker. Almost Alice boasts an eclectic array of recording artists with original songs based on some of the most charismatic characters in literary history, such as ‘In Transit’ performed by Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz. Other artists include The All-American Rejects, Shinedown, 3OH!3, Franz Ferdinand and All Time Low. ‘Very Good Advice’ performed by Robert Smith, is the only song from Disney’s 1951 animated film ‘Alice in Wonderland’ that appears on the collection,” the same movie-oriented publication further says.

Below is the full “Alice” song from Avril Lavigne, written by the Canadian singer especially for Tim Burton’s upcoming film. “Alice in Wonderland” drops on March 5, 2010 but, until then, make sure you keep an eye on this space for updates on this.
