Microsoft keeps struggling to bring more high-quality apps in the Windows Store and its efforts are somewhat paying off, as several large companies have already decided to port some of their apps to the new Windows 8.1.

One of the most exciting games to have arrived in the store lately is Marvel Entertainment’s Avengers Alliance, which puts you in the role of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, or The Hulk for a pretty awesome adventure.

The game is obviously offered free of charge and can be installed on both desktops and tablets, with the official description promising to offer a truly captivating experience on touch-capable devices.

“Team up with the Avengers, Spider-Man, and the X-Men, as you begin your mission as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Harness the power of ISO-8 before Dr. Doom, Loki, and the world's most powerful villains beat you to it. Recruit your favorite Marvel Heroes like Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk, gear up and Assemble in this new game!” the description published in the Windows Store reads.

According to the feature lineup, users can team up with more than 20 Marvel Heroes, the Avengers, Wolverine and the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, to compete across more than 450 levels that include boss and epic boss battles.

There are more than 60 missions available to users and hundreds of quests, while players can discover over 400 in-game items.

At the same time, the developing company promises that more features willbe added soon, including player versus player and special operations modes.

Keep in mind that an Internet connection is required in order to play Avengers Alliance and the game is a standalone app, which means that it’s not linked with any other version, such as the one offered to Facebook, Android, or iOS users.

Overall, this game is clearly worth a try, so download Avengers Alliance for Windows 8.1 to discover all its great features.
