14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Zen Studios is announcing that it is working on a new special table for its classic pinball experience which will allow gamers to experience a range of moments drawn from the coming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie.
Gamers will be able to control the team of heroes from the Marvel universe as they face their toughest challenges yet, and all the core mechanics are linked to the narrative of the film.
Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye will also be present in the new pinball table and can be controlled in their own mode.
The armies of Ultron are hard to defeat and players will need to become experts at first-person sharpshooting and to master an aerial combat sequence that involves Iron Man, who will be part of the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie.
The development team says that it is using selectable difficulty levels to make sure that gamers can tailor the challenge to their own capabilities as they seek to experience the story of the pinball table.
Zen Studios adds, "It’s both exhilarating and a bit overwhelming to base a pinball table on a film as it is being made! Often times, final decisions about the film (like costumes, lines, etc.) have not even been made while we’re designing the table, so we have to be able to change with the film as needed. It really keeps us on our toes!"
At the moment, the company is planning to launch the Avengers: Age of Ultron during the week of April 21 on home consoles, the PC, and mobile devices.
Pinball is going through a revival
The virtual pinball tables created by Zen Studios have tackled a wide variety of franchises and always incorporate cool mechanics that would be hard to deliver in the real world.
For Avengers: Age of Ultron, the team explains that it is not incorporating any major spoilers for the movie in the table, so gamers can get it as soon as it is launched even if they are not going to the cinema anytime soon.
They are also talking about more collaborations with Marvel, which will probably focus on other properties from the comic book company.
Zen Studios has not yet announced plans to upgrade the core engine it is using for its pinball tables this year.
