Keeping track of the stories in MCU can prove difficult

It’s been years since Marvel laid the first brick in its Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the more recent release, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” being the final film in Phase 2. “Captain America: Civil War” will kick off Phase 3 in 2016, introducing new heroes and villains, and saying goodbye to franchise regulars.

By now, unless you’ve kept up to speed with the comic book stories as well, or have invested considerable time in making sense of the way in which the movies are interrelated, chances are you’re pretty lost when it comes to specifics.

Still, each release from the MCU remains enjoyable as a standalone pic, but chances are this will change considerably in Phase 3. Signs in this direction already abound in “Age of Ultron,” which is packed to the brim with Easter Eggs and cross-references.

The video below sums up some of them, from those that hark back to “The Incredible Hulk” in 2009 to those that hint at the 2018 Marvel release “Black Panther,” to name just two.

The bottom line is that all Marvel superhero movies are meant to be enjoyed in a much larger context than the one provided by the release, and videos like this one are ideal at times like these to help a fan out.
