The second maintenance release of GNOME 2.26

After exactly 35 days from the first maintenance release of the popular GNOME 2.26 desktop environment, the development team proudly announced last night in a press release, the immediate availability of GNOME 2.26.2. This new release fixes many of the bugs found in the previous version and it also brings a few interesting features.

"This is the second update to GNOME 2.26. It contains many fixes for important bugs that directly affect our users, documentation updates and also a large number of updated translations. Many thanks to all the contributors who worked hard on delivering those changes in time. We hope it will help people feel better in their daily use of computers!" - said Vincent Untz in the press release.

Highlights of GNOME 2.26.2:

· Totem receives autohref support, which makes Apple Trailers website to work again. It also gets an option to cache the subtitles folder; · Tomboy comes now with improved startup times and support for FUSE (kernel module); · Nautilus allows now the Shift+Enter key combination while typeahead find; the startup performance was improved and the extra whitespace on the right (zoomed icon view) was fixed; · GStreamer received support for files bigger than 4GB, on Windows; GstPoll timer support and many other fixes; · GStreamer Plugins Base gets a new DVD playback navigation API, RTSP extensions, support for RIFF formats, better typefinding, support for interlacing flags in gstvideo and replaced audioresampler with speexresample; · Eye of GNOME received some user interface tweaking.
