Austrian authorities have identified a 15-year-old boy whom they believe to be responsible for hacking into the systems of 259 companies from various industries, the list of victims including tourism, sports, adult and even search engine sites.

According to Kurier, the boy is known on the hacking scene as ACKI3STX and apparently he breached websites to gain popularity on a specialized forum.

The young hacker not only defaced sites, but he also leaked information from their databases.

The C4 (Cyber-Crime Competence Center) unit has received a lot of complaints from companies since the beginning of the year, so they monitored the hacker and, at the end of March, they traced the virtual footprints back to his residence in Lower Austria.

As soon as authorities started questioning him, he confessed to his crimes.
