Gigabyte is tempting gaming fans with a new super light gaming device

Gigabyte’s subsidiary Aorus is showing off a couple a new laptops at Computex too. The most interesting of the two is surely the Aorus X Plus, which the company says is the lightest gaming notebook to have ever graced the market so far.

The device weighs 4.1 lbs / 1.8 kg and measures 13 x 10.4 x 0.9 inches / 330 x 264 x 23 mm. The entry-level Aorus X3 arrives with a 13.3-inch IGZO display and offers 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the Aorus XPlus ships with a 13.9-inch screen that has either 2560 x 1440 pixels or 3200 x 1800 resolution.

All models are bundled with an Intel Core i7-4710HQ processor, Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M graphics with 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

The new Aorus gaming gear can be fitted with 8GB of RAM or even 16GB if you need more. There are 2SSD slots that can accommodate up to 512GB of storage.

Furthermore, customers will find onboard 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, audio jack, SD card reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and stereo 1.5W speaker.

The high-quality displays are definitely the highlight of these new devices, but bear in mind you can also hook them up to an external display and output content at up to 4K resolution.

The two new laptops are expected to arrive in Q3 2014 and with prices starting at $2,099 / €1,540.
