14 DAY TRIAL // Some time ago, Nadya Suleman, dubbed Octomom in the media, caused quite the controversy when, in an interview with InTouch Weekly, she said she hated babies and was disgusted by them. After denying she ever said that, audio of it has emerged online.
As we also noted at the time, the InTouch interview was meant to offer a glimpse into Suleman’s no-doubt hectic life as a single, unemployed mother to 14 children.
Instead, it had her break down in front of the freelance reporter and admit that she regretted having so many babies. She even said she hated them.
After the interview came out, Suleman issued statement after statement through her rep that she ever said those things, and even went on the record in a televised interview to deny saying that.
As it turns out, she’s been lying all along, as TMZ also puts it. There’s an audio of Suleman saying that she hates all babies (not just her own) and that she is so disgusted by them she can’t even look at them.
“Whenever I hear a baby cry, I cringe. I do not like babies. I am absolutely disgusted by babies. They make me sick… I don’t even look at them. I have to look away,” Suleman is heard saying on the audio.
In the same interview, she also says that she locks herself in the bathroom because she feels the need to get away from the kids – and stays there for hours on end just to be able to have some quiet.
She says she cries and even eats her meals there, because she knows those are the only moments she can get away from the children.
This is another of the quotes that Suleman denied ever giving, the aforementioned e-zine notes.
“I hardly have 30 seconds to go to the restroom, I could never lock myself in the bathroom for hours,” Octomom said at the time the interview came out.
“Nadya never gave an interview to InTouch magazine. She never once said she was disgusted by her own children,” Suleman’s rep added in a separate statement to TMZ.
