Many of us have felt frustration when talking on the phone and not being able to hear or understand what the other person was saying, and for some that probably happened several times. However, the latest technologies available on the market have tried to eliminate this frustration, and it seems that things will get even better in the near future.

A company that is focused on offering mobile phone users a rich communication experience is Audience, based in Mountain View, California. The company is now reported to have announced $15 million in venture funding from different names like Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures, Tallwood Venture Capital, NEA and others. At the same time, it announced the raising of a total of $60 million in funds.

Audience is a company that works on the development of noise suppression and echo cancellation technologies, in a pursuit to make phone conversations sound clearer. The company's technology has been modeled on the human hearing system, and there are already a number of mobile phone makers that use it, including names like LG, Pantech and Sharp.

The technology can be used on a wide range of products that are used in noisy environments, allowing users to hear one another on mobile handsets. At the same time, the company is one of the 34 that founded the Open Handset Alliance, while also being one of the single companies to offer advanced noise suppression technology.

The company's board committee includes names such as Vulcan's Steve Hall or Cal Tech professor Carver Mead, which is also a founder of the Seattle-based Impinj. Those who would be interested in learning more on the technology offered by Audience can do that on the company's site. At the same time, there they will also find a demo that shows how said technology works.
