Police in Attleboro have posted an alert yesterday, warning about a potential gunman at a local school.

Warmsutta Middle School was placed on lockdown as they scoured the premises for the suspect. They describe the suspect on Twitter as a black male, wearing saggy pants and a white shirt.

CBS Boston reports that the State and Attleboro police conducted a search in the Seekonk Street area. The institution is located on Locust Street near a wooded area in Attleboro, WPRI adds.

The alarm was given out by four students describing a man with a gun near the school. K-9 units and a State Police helicopter were dispatched to help with the hunt for the gunman, but the search has come up empty.

"After Sandy Hook it's terrifying. I just had to come. I got my neighbors kids too... everybody's fearful," one parent expresses, after being called in to pick up her child.
