Most people are utterly unable to stick to their diet during these two days

A recent survey has revealed that attempts to lose weight by dieting many times crash and burn during the weekend.

Researchers say that, as surprising as this may sound, it often happens that dieters consume about 50% of the calories they had eaten throughout the rest of the week on Saturday and Sunday alone.

57% of men and 46% of women have been documented to be prone to this behavior.

Specifically, their calorie intake for the weekend can amount to a whopping 10,000 calories.

“The 5:2 diet is becoming increasingly popular – where we limit our calories for five days and allow ourselves a few treats on the other two days.”

“For many people, the two days off are Saturday and Sunday but they go way too far,” said a spokesperson for diet firm Forza Supplements, as cited by Daily Mail.

Apparently, women are likely to only indulge on Saturday. Men, on the other hand, indulge throughout the entire weekend.
