Atrinsic Inc. has announced that Kazaa subscribers can access the music service on their iPad or iPhone without the requirement of downloading and installing a dedicated application, to immediately stream music to their device.

According to the company behind the digital music subscription service, this “innovation” is especially significant in light of Apple’s recent announcement concerning the 30% cut of revenue it plans to keep from new subscriptions and media purchases made through its App Store.

Needless to point out, Apple’s new rule has not been received with warmth by the media, nor by some big names like Sony, who were planning to make expand their e-reading business in the App Store.

A marketer of direct to consumer subscription products and an Internet search-marketing agency, Atrinsic owns the Kazaa digital music subscription service.

Kazaa allows subscribers to pay or charge their subscription to a credit card, but also to their phone bill, whether it is the mobile phone, or their home phone.

Hinting at the upcoming availability of a dedicated application for, Ray Musci, Atrinsic’s COO, said “We intend to broaden access for our service with new and dedicated applications, so that the browser is not the only way customers can access our service.”

However, such an app will most likely not arrive for iOS devices, should Atrinsic continue to pursue a royalty-free business model.

“For Kazaa, Apple’s App Store is just one of many marketing and distribution channels we already engage in, with our primary objective of making it convenient and easy for customers to access our service.” Mr. Musci continued.

“We have been carefully monitoring our users habits and interacting with them for several months while we build out and customize Kazaa’s products and services to better fit their needs. We intend to continue this practice with many new and exciting innovations to enhance our product and expand our direct marketing relationships,” Musci concluded.
