The umbrella falls apart and gets turned inside out

Extreme athlete Erik Roner has tried out the famous umbrella dive inspired by the Mary Poppins character, the off-beat nanny first introduced in P. L. Travers' children's books series.

The character, played by Julie Andrews in the movie adaptation, uses the umbrella to get around the city. It's inspiring to see the storyline brought to life in this experiment.

However, Mary Poppins was not also packing a parachute, and Roner did attach his umbrella to a hot air balloon.

Roner attempted the jump to determine whether or not the umbrella would slow him down, but it was soon turned inside out. The umbrella didn't make it to the ground with him, but Roner was able to safely descend, relying on his parachute.
