For a year

At&t and Napster have teamed up apparently aiming to offer their customers unlimited access for a year, to over three million songs through Napster To Go, free of charge.

Customers will be able to transfer the tunes they want directly onto their mobile phones or music devices. The service will be available starting April the 1st (yes, April Fool's day) and it will be offered to users with qualifying plans including customers with home phone and broadband triple-pack bundle services.

It will enable users to conveniently access their favorite songs from the PC, mobile phone or music device. The offer builds on the company's effort to deliver access to enhanced content, anywhere and at any time. Now, thinking about all this, one could easily assume that it's either an April Fool's Day prank or there's something more to it than this.

And there it is, as new customers and existing ones who are outside of the traditional 22-state territory will only qualify for the offer if they sign a two-year contract with the purchase of the Samsung Blackjack on SYNC.

"By tying Napster To Go to AT&T's robust communications network, we're turning up the volume nationwide on both consumer value and added convenience," said Rick Welday, chief marketing officer of AT&T Consumer. "Merging communications with entertainment - in this case, linking Napster To Go's rich library of music to our wireless and broadband services - again shows that we are committed to delivering enhanced content across key screens both at home and on the go."

To find out more about this and see if you qualify for the offer you can visit any of At&t's wireless retail stores.
