Ask any other woman which are the items around the house she couldn’t live without and she’d probably name a gadget, an appliance or an object of sentimental value. For Gwyneth Paltrow, it’s all about art – and luxury.

The actress, who has already made a name for herself with her GOOP project, a lifestyle website on which she posts regularly, is in the latest issue of Elle Décor, speaking of the things she couldn’t imagine her life without.

First off, she names a wallpaper that is made in London and is painted by hand. She has it one wall in the living room of her London home.

Gwyneth also loves her Antonio Lupi Baia Tub which, even though a bathtub, is not to be found in the bathroom.

“It’s in the middle of my bedroom – perfect for a relaxing wind-down and for bathing the kids,” the actress says for the aforementioned publication.

The star’s home is also home to photographs by Darren Almond of whom she says, “His arresting, large-scale artwork brings a sense of majesty to a room.”

Nevertheless, Gwyneth is also more like us mere mortals, in that she too loves books. Her only preference is that they be clothbound Penguin Classics or, if they’re of a religious nature, that they sit on the same shelf.

“These gorgeous editions make the books so tempting to pick up, again and again. The ultimate cure for sore muscles,” Gwyneth says of the clothbound books.

As for that part with the “sore muscles,” she’s referring to her intense, grueling workouts that help her maintain what’s been dubbed one of the best bodies in showbiz right now.

“Built-in slots hold holy books – including the Qur’an, Bible, and Tao Te Ching – all at the same level (which is how I like to think about religion),” the star says of the shelf destined for religious titles.

Gwyneth also loves flowers, we learn, just as long as they’re displayed in “single-variety arrangements,” and she professes she couldn’t live without her YUBZ Retro Handset, which she uses on her BlackBerry to “cut down on cellphone radiation.”
