Asustek has just announced its new ASUS Splendid HD1 video enhancement card graphics solution, that is allegedly able to deliver improved graphics performance for high-definition multimedia applications, with sharper, more vividly colored visual outputs.

The enhancement card comes bundled with Asustek's Splendid technology and is alleged to enhance lower resolution inputs by recovering image clarity, as well as to unleash the power of HDMI with audio and HDCP.

The new graphics offering allows users to enjoy full 1080p high-definition resolution, and is aimed at filling the gap between viewing content on the PC and traditional consumer electronic devices. According to Asus, the new card will provide HDMI upgrades with true Audio and HDCP certified digital rights management protection, thus morphing the generic desktop PC into a fully fledged home theater system with improved multimedia features.

The Splendid HD1 video enhancement card can automatically adjust the display mode to perfectly match the multimedia content. For instance, the photo mode is especially designed for watching still images or for average computing needs. The Splendid HD1 multimedia engine boosts the color performance and dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio, for clearer and more vivid pictures.

While in video mode, the graphics card unleashes the power of image edge enhancing algorithms to minimize blurring and ghosting as well as other artifacts that affect the image rendered on an average LCD monitor. The delivered image comes with increased color depth and contrast to maximize the amount of displayed details.

Last, but not least, the game mode is especially tailored to offer the best video performance while playing first-person shooter or RPG games. Gamers who are already using an Asus-branded graphics card will be able to switch to the Demo mode, in order to compare the impact of the processing in multiple configurations.
