Asustek is not much of a cooling and casing solution fan, and that is why you would rarely learn about this kind of hardware. However, when it decides to launch such products, you should expect impressive designs with state-of-the-art functionality. That's the case with its latest invention, the Triton 79 Amazing CPU cooler.

The new CPU cooler offering from Asustek is more than a simple cooler with an extremely fancy design. It is a collector's item, and the company made sure that it would introduce only 3,200 sets of limited-edition Triton 79 Amazing processor coolers. The device is company's flagship product in terms of performance mixed with an extremely stylish outlook and packaging.

"The name AMAzing represents the high level of achievement of this flagship cooler in terms of high performance, stylish outlook and gorgeous packaging. Made just for this deluxe limited-edition package, every component is well protected by Polyurethane foam plastic; and each owner of the ASUS Triton 79 AMAzing will have an ultra-exclusive identification card marked with a limited-edition serial number. There is no doubt that the Triton 79 AMAzing is the superior choice for computer gamers who require ultimate performance, absolute silence and eye-catching designs," reads the product's press release.

The product has been exclusively manufactured in a single batch with a limited number of units. Each cooler is shielded by a protective coating of Polyurethane foam plastic. The cooler comes with an exclusive identification card marked with a limited-edition serial number.

The unique cooler can be seated on both Intel and AMD processors compatible with the LGA775 and 939/940/AM2/AM2+/1207+ sockets, respectively. It can successfully ventilate Intel Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Quad CPUs built on the quad-core architecture as well as AMD Athlon 64 FX/X2 dual-core processors.

The Triton 79 Amazing model comes with a nickel-coated copper base that maximizes the heat transfer from the processor's cores to the 4 copper heat pipes that penetrate the aluminum fins. The active heat dispersion is handled by a LED-enabled 120-millimeter fan that automatically modulates fan speeds according to the CPU temperature. The PWM function allows it to spin from a quiet 18dBA while under moderate workload, to faster speeds when the system is running at full load.

The cooler's design also directs the airflow to the nearby surrounding VRM (voltage regulation modules), thus reducing the VRM temperatures by 10-15?C.

Asustek has not disclosed further details about pricing and availability, but given the fact that it's a collector's item, it will surely be priced as such.
