Or is it just a rumor?

If Porsche and Ferrari already have their names and logos on two mobile phones, it's now time for Lamborghini to put its signature on a handset. Apparently it is an Asus device, Asus ZX1 Lamborghini more exactly, a high-end PDA that will hopefully be presented at CeBIT 2008 (4 - 9 March) in Hanover, Germany.

There are no details about how Asus ZX1 Lamborghini looks like, but rumors say it's a touchscreen device with a User Interface resembling both the iPhone one and the HTC Touch one. And, of course, its design will bring in mind the Lamborghini way of designing cars. Moreover, the PDA will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 (or at least Windows Mobile 6 Professional) and will be powered by a Qualcomm CPU at a 520 MHz speed. Other speculated features include 3.5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built-in GPS, which will put the handset among the most evolved devices released this year.

The ZX1 Lamborghini PDA is the third new handset from Asus to come in 2008, after the M930 Communicator and the Galaxy Mini pocket PC. It should hit the market in the second half of the year, for an estimated price of about 650 Euro (somewhere around 1,000 USD). Pretty pricey, I guess. But we'll judge upon this after we see the device and we find out its official features.

The cooperation between Asus and Lamborghini is somehow normal, since about two years ago the Taiwanese company and the Italian car manufacturer collaborated to produce and release a notebook, the Asus-Lamborghini VX1, which became a successful product.

It's a good thing that famous car manufacturers work together with mobile producers, as the result of their work can only be a positive one. This being said, we're waiting for a Nokia Bugatti and a Sony Ericsson McLaren phone. Although they might never come.
