We won't really know what the prices will be until shipments begin, which should be in a few days, but the bare essentials of the Vivobook series, at least, are known.

ASUS described them as 11.6-inch and 14-inch ultraportables with stylish cases, high-definition screens and SonicMaster audio support.

Besides Core Series Ivy Bridge CPUs, they probably have standard notebooks specs (DDR3, USB 3.0/2.0, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Lan, etc.). We know for sure an HDD is part of the spec sheet, and that a large multitouch touchpad is present as well, “for excellent multi-tasking performance.”

Needless to say, the laptops run Windows 8, the operating system that Microsoft has been working on for the past few years.

ASUS revealed the Vivobook series, alongside all its other Windows 8 products, at its special “In Search of Incredible” Windows 8 event in New York. We will cover the rest shortly.
