There’s also some good news as Clove makes the 32GB model cheaper

UK, and pretty much the rest of Europe, isn’t expected to get the Transformer Prime until January of 2012, but recently it has been uncovered that the tablet will get yet another delay, as in the UK the 64GB version won’t start shipping until Q2 of 2012.

When Clive originally listed the Transformer Prime at the end of last week, the UK retailer said that both the 32GB and the 64GB version of the tablet were expected to ship in January of 2012.

However, as SlashGear reports, earlier today the retailer posted an article on its official blog to update its customers about the status of the Prime.

According to this post, two modifications were made to its listings.

The first one affects the pricing of the 32GB version of the Asus tablet since this is now available for pre-order at £499 including VAT, compared to the £550.80 that it asked for the tablet last week.

Customers who have already pre-ordered the tablet at the higher price, will get Asus’ creation at £499 as no orders are being charged until they are shipped.

As far as the second announcement is concerned, this concerns the 64GB model which Clove says it won’t ship until the second quarter of 2012.

As a result, pre-orders for the 64GB version of the Transformer Prime were canceled, and those who pre-ordered have the option of terminating their order and moving to the 32GB model instead.

Right now, we still don’t know when the 32GB version of the Transformer Prime will start shipping in the UK, but it seems like the tablet will arrive with Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich, pre-installed.

This runs on a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC that is paired together with 1GB of RAM. Outside of the Asus tablet also includes an 8MP rear snapper, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, a GPS, a gyroscope, SonicMaster audio and can provide 12 hours of battery life.
