Asus Republic of Gamers, aka ROG, motherboard range is preparing to welcome three new members in its ranks, which will make up the Maximus V series.

This was unveiled just recently, when TechPowerUp managed to get a hold of a cropped image of a motherboard PCB which was clearly marked as the Maximus V.

Needless to say, no specs were accompanying the picture, but we are pretty sure that these upcoming Asus boards will be based on Intel’s new Z77 chipset that was specially built for the chip maker’s next-gen Ivy Bridge processors.

This means that PCI Express 3.0 support is pretty much a given, but knowing Asus’ ROG series we expect to see many more features introduced in the Maximus V motherboards.

More details should be available soon, so make sure you check our website regularly for the latest updates.
