Asus is the type of mobile phone manufacturer that does his job silently, without accidentally throwing on the market all kinds of leaked photos. Their latest mobile phone that got under my magnifying glass, the P526 Pegasus, is the device with which Asus has entered in the race for an iF Design Award.

That was the exact first time we got to see the Pegasus in all its splendor because, at that moment, it was found in the iF Design Awards product gallery.

Now we got even more details regarding it and a press release available on the Asus website that tells us this handset is going to get an official unveiling during the CeBIT computer expo to take place in Hannover, Germany from 15 to 21 March 2007.

One thing is for sure when talking about the Asus P526: there will be a lot of people that will be ready to put their money down in advance to be the first to get their hands on it.

This is a quad-band Pocket PC phone working on 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz networks, featuring a Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS running on an TI OMAP 850 200MHz processor, with a 2.6 inch 65k colors TFT touchscreen display, with 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM memory, support for global roaming, USB 1.1, Bluetooth 1.2, GPRS, EDGE, a SiRF Star III GPS chipset, miniSD memory expansion card slot and a 2 megapixel digital camera with camcorder capabilities, all packed up in a 15.4 mm thin body and weighing about 115 grams.

To make the story short, this is a PDA phone with GPS capabilities that will give you a closer look on what mobile luxury means and with its diamond cut edges and brushed aluminum finish will make even the pickiest mobile user feel an urge to puts his hands on it.
