We're just a few hours away from Nvidia's official release of the GTX 560 Ti GPU, but reports detailing various solutions based on that core have already started appearing as Asus' GTX560 Ti DirectCU II Top just got pixelized together with a screenshot that provides a glimpse into its overclocking potential.

The images were posted on the XtremeSystems forum by a user that goes by the name of Bakalu and are taken from the Vietnamese Amtech website that will also post a review of the board once the NDA expires.

Until that happens, we have the chance of taking a quick look at one of the most interesting graphics cards based on the GF114 core.

Just as it’s the case with all DirectCU products, this card uses an improved cooling system that makes use of three direct contact heatpipes that draw the heat away from the core and into a aluminum heatsink situated right above the VRM area.

The whole cooling assembly is covered by a plastic shroud that packs two fans.

This setup, as well as the improved PWM design, allowed Asus to clock its card at 900/1050Mhz, compared to the reference 822MHz core and 1000Mhz memory of the original GTX 560 Ti.

However, the card can be pushed even further through overclocking, as Amtech did.

By raising the fan speed to a full 100%, the reviewer managed to run the GPU at an impressive 1060MHz while the memory was run at 1150MHz.

This is truly an impressive feat and goes to show the high overclockability of Nvidia's cores, and that of the GTX 560 in particular.

Together with the GTX560 Ti DirectCU II Top, Asus also bundles a mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter and the company's own SmartDoctor application that allows tweaking the GPU's voltage.

Pricing details have not been released until now, but they are set to follow soon, when the card makes its official debut.
