NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio even posted his selfie on Twitter

I am afraid I have some very bad news for you. Apparently, the selfies craze does not end where our planet does. On the contrary, it has begun to spread to outer space.

Not to beat about the bush, it was this past Wednesday that NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio, who is now aboard the International Space Station, took a selfie, and even shared it on Twitter later on, Time informs.

It goes without saying that this selfie is probably the coolest that has until now made it on social media. Some might even go as far as to say that it is out of this world.

“An EVA selfie. The space suit makes it very difficult to get a good selfie. I tried several today,” the message accompanying Rick Mastracchio's selfie reads.

In case anyone was wondering (and I am sure quite a lot of you were), EVA stands for Extra-Vehicular Activity. If this piece of information does not help clear things out, here is what the NASA astronaut meant to say: he took the selfie while enjoying a spacewalk.

I for one am no big fan of selfies, but I do have to admit that, should I ever find myself walking about in space, I will surely grab hold of a camera and snap as many pictures as I possibly can.
