Handmark, developer and distributor of mobile media, has announced Astraware Sudoku for iPhone and iPod touch. Astraware Sudoku is a touch-screen-based title using Apple's Multi-Touch technology to offer an experience especially crafted for the two portables, says the company.

“The Astraware team has many years of experience in touch screen gaming and has earned a fantastic reputation in the industry for the quality of games developed,” said Paul Reddick, Handmark CEO. “We are pleased to expand our offerings in the Apple App Store with what we believe is the best Sudoku game available for iPhone and iPod touch.”

According to Handmark, Astraware Sudoku boasts this unique “Puzzle of the Day” feature that allows players to download daily puzzles directly to their iPhone over Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. The game then allows users to select a difficulty level. Upon completing a puzzle, players have the ability to submit their results to Sudoku of the Day comparing against players worldwide. Additionally, a powerful “puzzle generator” can create an unlimited number of true Sudoku puzzles. Players can actually grab Sudoku puzzles from newspapers or magazines and complete them within the game. Assistance features are built in for additional help on solving the puzzles.

“We wanted to make a game that was extremely enjoyable and playable, with the smart features seamlessly incorporated so they are available without getting in your way," said Howard Tomlinson, Director of Games Development, Astraware. "Our hints help you to look for answers rather than giving them to you straight away, so you still get the pleasure of finding and solving the puzzle for yourself. That way, players improve and find themselves attempting and completing the trickier puzzles.”

Astraware Sudoku costs $4.99 and is immediately available for download onto your iPhone, iPod touch via Apple's iTunes App Store.
