A fresh series of details about Assassin's Creed Unity has appeared online, going in-depth as regards the new protagonist, Arno, the gameplay in terms of story, and the cooperative mode, sharing quite a few new things about it.

Assassin's Creed Unity was revealed to the world earlier this year through a teaser trailer and, at E3 2014 last week, it finally received some actual details, alongside a gameplay demonstration that confirmed a cooperative story mode for the new title.

Since then, Ubisoft has been quite open with the details for Unity and, thanks to the Access the Animus Facebook page, a series of all-new reveals has surfaced online concerning the protagonist of the game, Arno, its actual gameplay, and the cooperative mode.

First up, Unity begins right at the dawn of the French Revolution and takes place between the Storm of the Bastille and the moment in which Robespierre was shot, meaning 1789 and 1794. It's unclear what actual events from the French revolution will be covered by the game, as quite a lot of things happened in that time period.

Arno, the new protagonist, is an all-new character and isn't related to the current-day ancestor of former franchise hero Desmond. He is a young French nobleman who was born in Versailles but saw his father killed in mysterious circumstances when he was eight years old.

Arno felt responsible in a way and went on a quest for redemption. Only after his step father is also killed does he start investigating the Templar order, which played a role in the second murder.

In terms of gameplay, the combat will feature varied combos that require various button pushes, not just mashing the same one over and over again. Constant movement is also key when engaged in a fight, as enemies will try to surprise players at different times.

Sneaking around in stealth mode needs more finesse, as due to the open conflict on the streets of Paris, acting suspiciously will immediately draw the attention of all citizens, not just guards or members of the militias.

The cooperative mode will allow players to team up with strangers online, in case they don't have friends with whom to create a brotherhood, and those who enter the worlds of other players can do many other things besides completing story-based missions.

You can expect to hear much more about Assassin's Creed Unity as we get closer to its release this October for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
